Hector Ramirez

Hector Ramirez starts his broadcast from a village in Brazil. He stands in front of a row of fire-damaged buildings, some of which seem to being rebuilt by the odd collaboration of Cobra troops and giant robots. He’s wearing a suit, and over that an overcoat which flaps in the wind as he talks loudly into a microphone.

“I’m standing in the small village of Noiva Do Cordeiro, on the edge of the rain forest in Brazil. Farmers here rely on slash-and-burn techniques to create new fields, but earlier this week those same techniques nearly caused the hamlet’s destruction. As fire raged out of control, an unusual partnership developed to put out the flames: Autobot rescuers, and Cobra troops active in the area.”

Ramirez stops one of the villagers and shoves the microphone in his face. “How do you feel about your community being saved by alien robots and known terrorists?”

The villager stammers a moment, and then replies in heavily-accented English, “I don’t care who they are or where they came from. They saved my family, and then they stayed around to help rebuild. They are all heroes to me.”

Ramirez corners one of the giant robots while he’s working and raises his microphone after asking, “And you? What are you called, and how to you feel about working with Cobra to rebuild this settlement?”

The green robot looks down at Ramirez, and then over at the camera. “I’m called Hoist, and while I’ve learned you can’t trust the enemy when it comes to building projects, I don’t have much of a choice – it’s not my call. Cobra’s been here helping out, and they have aided us in the past against the Decepticons. As long as they behave themselves, they can do their jobs, and I’ll do mine.”

Ramirez turns the camera back on himself, where it belongs. “There you have it. Autobots working with the enemy to do good in this small town of Noiva Do Cordeiro. Maybe it can be a model for the world.”

The segment ends.
