Soundwave is a heroic Decepticon from the "Shattered Glass" universe.

Soundwave: Bringin' the good vibes to the Decepticon anti-war movement

SOUNDWAVE is a righteous dude! He and his gnarly cassettes — Laserbeak, Buzzsaw, Frenzy, Ravage, Slugfest, and Overkill — bring the good vibrations to Megatron's fight against the totally heinous Autobots! His sensors can detect radio transmissions of the lowest energy levels, and he can even "read minds" by monitoring the electrical impulses inside someone's brain circuitry if he's standing nearby. He serves as the Decepticons' communications relay station, and has a photographic memory due to the immense storage capacity of the magnetic disks in his chest. SOUNDWAVE has a directional radiowave sensor and a concussion blaster-gun, as well as great physical strength. He loves Earth and its music, and wants to save the world so he can concentrate on rockin’ out and enjoyin’ the tunes.

Fearing the Autobots' intentions on Earth, Soundwave sent Ravage to reconnoiter and possibly warn Earth of the Autobot's coming. Soundwave remained on Cybertron, assisting Megatron's preparations for the launch of the Nemesis.

When the Nemesis finally launched, Soundwave was left behind on Cybertron. There he worked with his remaining tapes, trying to protect the citizens of Cybertron from the Junkion invasion.

In 2016, Sir Soundwave travelled to Earth with his tapes to take over communications duties at Decepticon City. Later that year he was present for the Autobot attack on Decepticon City.
