- The Driller is a trained Decepticon animal.
The largest subterranean lifeform native to Cybertron, Drillers are not to be taken lightly. Enormous multi-tentacled beasts capable of burrowing through the ground or through buildings with ease, they are capable of great destruction and carnage on any scale. Naturally, all these qualities have endeared them to the Founder who keeps one as a pet and personal transport.
The Dweller is a particularly large and deadly driller.
History[]
Long before the Quintessons had even created the robots which would one day become the Transformers, their early experiments centered around a fusion of technology and organic material. One of their creations was an unstoppable driller known as the Dweller. They managed to defeat the Dweller and the rest of the Trans-Organic monsters and seal them away deep within the bowels of Cybertron.
Notes[]
- The Driller resembles an aquatic Decepticon in concept art by Ben Procter for Revenge of the Fallen.
- The Driller also pays homage to a form of Cybertronic wildlife from Generation 1, called the Dweller.
- The Driller's working name was Colossus.[1] The old name still pops up in media coverage.[2]
- According to the special effects team, the Driller is the length of three football fields. That would make it roughly 1080 feet long.[3]
- In the Japanese Heat Scramble card game, the Driller is called the "Worm."
Foreign names[]
