Despite his codename, DEVIL is quite a warm and generous person. Born and raised in a rich part of New York City, Devil learned how to defuse tense situations by talking things out - which was useful, as his twin brother was always starting trouble. He had no interest in taking up arms against the government; that is, until a G.I. Joe raid on a peaceful protest left him missing an eye. Now, Devil has taken up a rifle, as well as Father Cobra's cause.. He is fluent in French. His favored sniper rifle is the AWSM, and his favored pistol is the M-1911A1.

Canonical/Pre-MUX/Theme History:[]
Matthew Reddington was a thoughtful, social man who never intended to become a soldier. But, when the peaceful protest he was at turned into a street riot (no doubt due to Sergeant Mace's efforts), Devil lost an eye while protecting some innocents. What truly motivated him to join up with Cobra, though, was who he saw holding the knife that took his eye; he own twin brother Jay, who had joined G.I. Joe.
MUX History:[]
Devil was originally assigned to Cobra's marksman division, usually assigned to missions commanded by Artemis. Devil was then sent to the main-TFUniverse on a mission, and was trapped there when the rifts closed.
