Cliff Vernon Mewett
Armored Vehicle Driver
8 - O-6 - Colonel (retired)
"As a general thing, an individual who is neat in his person is neat in his morals."
Proper dress and discipline have always been the backbone of COLONEL COURAGE’s leadership. He works hard to impress these qualities upon his subordinates and insists that anyone who follows his lead will quickly transform themselves into a clean, mean, efficient fighting machine. Because of his efficient work ethic and organizational skills, he was usually assigned to intelligence tasks behind the lines, and behind a desk. Therefore, whenever he has a chance for combat duty, he eagerly jumped at the opportunity with an armor piercing weapon in one hand and a machine gun blasting in the other.
With the military specialty of "administrative strategist", Colonel Courage is known for emphasizing proper dress and discipline in the soldiers under his command. Qualified to drive the Patriot armored vehicle, the Colonel worked with the G.I. Joe team before it was shut down in 1994.
Colonel Courage operated out of the new Pit when it was established in 2011, but with growing Cobra activity in Africa, Admiral Ledger and Colonel Courage were sent to take over Camp Lemonnier, using it for local G.I. Joe operations in addition to its primary mission.
In 2014, Colonel Courage retired, passing command of Camp Lemonnier back to USAFRICOM.
